QR Codes

You have probably seen them on adverts to bottles of Pepsi™ and lots of other goods, services and marketing but what are they and how can they help you…?

The above graphic is the QR code for this website. Not much good for it to be here but it can be added to adverts, clothing and business cards to get your user to your website.

How does it work – well the user takes a photo with their camera and then uses a nifty application on their mobile phone to read the code and send them to where you want them to go. To get the reader then go to this website: http://reader.kaywa.com/. the best way is to put this URL into your mobile phone. If you have a Samsung phone that is not listed then try downloading the program anyway – it worked for mine although the site did tell me that my phone was not supported.

If you are using an iPhone then you might want to use RedLaser which is a free utility that works on bar codes and QR codes.
